The 11th Annual Hunters & Easingwold Golf Club Charity Tournament this year raised a record breaking £13,303 for local charities.
On the 4th July, dodging summer downpours amidst bursts of sunshine, the event welcomed an impressive 27 teams from local organisations, who played a round of golf followed by dinner, prize ceremony and a Charity Auction. Tournament winners were Rawcliffe Associates.
The auction was an outstanding success and contributed a substantial and welcomed addition to the funds already raised by team entry fees. The auctioneer was Andrew Galloway, of Hunters Easingwold who in his jovial and humorous way did a great job in auctioning an array of kindly donated gifts - including a five course dinner for eight by Durham Ox in Crayke, Morning on the Gallops at Newmarket, tickets to Party at the Park in Leeds and many, many more.
Easingwold Golf Club generously co-hosted the event offering the courtesy of the course enabling Hunters to generate even more money for charity. The money raised will be donated to this year’s chosen Charities - St Monica’s Hospital, Easingwold; Martin House, Wetherby; York against Cancer and Henshaws Society for Blind People, Harrogate.
Kevin Hollinrake, Managing Director of Hunters, took part in the event and said, “We are delighted that once again so many of our valued customers and suppliers decided to join in the event and help raise money for such fantastic causes”.
“The Golf Charity Tournament is now a firm fixture in Hunters’ annual calendar and we appreciate now more than ever, the generosity of so many people who are prepared to put their hands in their pockets for charity despite tough economic times”.
Gay Enos of Easingwold Golf Club said afterwards: “Hunters did really well in raising such a large amount of money. It was a brilliant day.”
Hunters would like to extend a huge thank you to all sponsors and participants who made the event possible and such a success.
