The Asterley Bros are serving up classy cocktails in pouches, and these can be delivered direct to your door. The company makes vermouth, amaro and fernet in a workshop in Forest Hill, and they hit upon the idea of utilising the skills of expert bartender Joe Schofield and his cocktail recipes to make the most of their liquor.
The pouches are available as a monthly subscription service where you will receive snacks, samples and a seasonal cocktail for £48.50 each month. However, you can also snap up any cocktail of their making for £44.95, and this will be delivered to your home.
It is fair to say this is a lot of money for a drink, but you will receive a litre of booze! This should get you ten cocktails, and you will receive instructions on how to serve and enjoy each drink. The products on offer change on a regular basis, but you are sure to find a lot to tickle and tantalise your tastebuds.
There are many fantastic drinks to choose from
As September featured Negroni week, there has been a choice of this Italian drink on offer of late. A Pink Negroni is a tasteful option, based on pink grapefruit and rose liqueur, while there has also been a very popular rhubarb flavoured gin. Other popular options of late have been a Fig Martinez and a Blackcurrant Spritz.
In their own words, the company which was set up in 2014, describes itself as; “Based in South London we make our spirits by hand, using traditional methods in a workshop in Forest Hill, SE23. No outsourcing, no [censored], no marketing misdirection. We make English Vermouth, Amaro and Fernet, using only the best natural ingredients. British if possible and organic whenever we can. Each bottle takes around three months to make, using traditional craft techniques. Made with care and attention, and only ever in small batches.”
