Hunters’ Head of Lettings, Carrie Alliston, is among the top property experts providing their expertise to a new series of online TV shows aimed at new and existing landlords.
Carrie took part in two episodes of The Buy to Let Show, which was devised and presented by leading property expert Kate Faulkner, who runs www.propertychecklists.co.uk
In the second show of the series, Financing and Insuring a Buy to Let, Carrie discusses the importance of having a survey done on a property before purchasing, as well as budgeting for maintenance work, both immediate and ongoing.
In the third show, Choosing a Buy to Let, Carrie is part of a panel discussion where she explains how local letting agents are a vital source of information when looking for a property to buy, as they have in-depth knowledge of the local market and know exactly what sort of homes tenants are seeking.
Carrie commented, “Unravelling the Buy to Let market and its potential can be daunting to both new and existing Landlords with a lot of variable and sometimes unreliable information around. These shows are designed to offer useful and concrete advice that will help your Buy to Let be a successful investment. Hunters is an experienced lettings agent and we pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service; these programmes are a great addition to a full library of information and resources we can share with Landlords or anyone looking to enter the Buy to Let market.”
Over six episodes, The Buy to Let Show covers everything from weighing up whether Buy to Let is the best option for your particular circumstances, through letting legally and safely, dealing with problems, and concludes with information on planning an exit strategy.
With an estimated two million landlords in the UK, an ever-growing list of rules and regulations to follow, as well as tax changes potentially cutting into landlords’ income, it’s clear that The Buy to Let Show will become invaluable both to those considering buying a rental property for the first time and to existing investors.
Each 25-minute programme features case studies and vital information from industry experts, including experienced landlords, insurance experts, financial and tax advisers and environmental health officers.
Show presenter Kate Faulkner said: “In my experience, Buy to Let is not often explained to people properly and, as a result, although some are successful, others are failing and not making any money at all – or, worse, have even lost their own home. It’s clear that help is needed so the Buy to Let Show, and particularly the experts involved, will be an invaluable resource for existing landlords and anyone thinking that investing in property is how they want to make their money or save for a pension in the future.”
