Linda Barker brings home makeover to Shooters Hill
Last week (Friday 21 June 2013), saw interior designer and TV personality Linda Barker visit Shooters Hill, to give resident Jackie Brown, a home makeover, after she won a national competition by Hunters the estate agent.
Linda visited Jackie’s south east London home to advise her on the design of her home and how best to dress it. The prize includes a new Omega kitchen worth £20,000, a new £5,000 bathroom supplied by local company Earlswood Interiors and soft furnishings and accessories to the value of £5,000.
Competition winner, Jackie Brown of Ashridge Crescent in Shooters Hill, said: “I am absolutely delighted to have won a home makeover by such a successful interior designer. I have watched Linda Barker on TV for years and it was fantastic to have her in my own home, providing me with advice on how to make the most of it. I have no doubt that the results will be stunning and I can’t wait to see it when it is finished.”
Linda Barker, interior designer and TV personality, comments: “As a previous customer,  I am very excited to be working with Hunters and giving Jackie expert tips on how she can makeover her kitchen and bathroom; two crucial parts of the house. First impressions count, particularly when you are thinking of selling your home. For those not as lucky as Jackie, presenting your home well doesn’t mean a complete redecoration or spending money on new furniture, it just means a bit of time and effort directed where it matters most.”
Jackie sold her house through Richard Cross and his team at Hunters Abbey Wood in February 2012 and was presented with the winning certificate in December. Her name was drawn at random from the national database of entries.
Richard Cross, director of Hunters in Abbey Wood, comments: “Feedback from our buyers suggests that whether your property is for sale, to let or would appeal to an investor, good presentation can really get you more offers in all cases. We have been working with Linda for almost three years now. She is an excellent ambassador for design and how important it is to present your property in the best light when it comes to selling or letting your home. We are very excited to be able to offer our competition winner this once in a lifetime consultation with her.”
Hunters is now the UK’s fastest growing, independent estate agency group with over 100 independently owned branches nationwide. Having opened its first branch 21 years ago in York, Hunters rapidly expanded and has over 30 branches throughout London and the south east, including Abbey Wood, Welling and Bexleyheath. There are plans to open a further 30 more branches throughout 2013.
