4th October 2018 posted in Property News

Have you considered investing in the Harborne property market?

Many people have. There’s lots of opportunity here, with a range of different properties available to buy or let.

Before you do, however. It’s a good idea to gain an understanding of the local market.

So we’ve put together a brief guide - looking at current housing prices, the types of properties, and more.

We’ll also explain how Hunters can help you achieve your goals. Whether you’re looking for a place to live, or somewhere you can rent out to tenants.

It’s not as complicated as you think.

Where is Harborne?

Harborne is part of Birmingham, and located just a few miles south-west of the city centre.

With a population of just 23,000 (2011 census), it is quite a small village, but very much loved by the local residents.

As in many villages in the UK, it features many independent shops, pubs and restaurants.

There are strong community vibes here. For those who prefer the quieter life, this is the place to be.

However, it does also have good transport links into Birmingham. So people often choose to live in Harborne, and either work or study in the city.

Housing Prices in Harborne

Zoopla figures show the average price paid for a property in Harborne over the last 12 months was £341,143.

This is significantly higher than a little further up the road in Birmingham, where the average is at £193,029 for the same time period.

In Harborne, if we extend that to the last five years, the average price paid was £290,180, so it has gone up quite a bit in recent years.

If you look at our list of currently available properties, you’ll see a wide range of prices.

There’s everything from £90k to £1.1 million. So unless you’re looking for something even pricier than that, you shouldn’t struggle to find something suitable.

The Different Types of Properties

As mentioned, there are lots of different types of properties in the village of Harborne, available for you to buy or rent.

That includes flats, terraces, detached and semi-detached houses.

Obviously the one you choose will depend on your budget. Flats are generally the most affordable, whilst detached properties will set you back more than the rest.

But it’s not only about money, it’s about what you want and need.

Naturally, if you have a family with multiple kids, a one bedroom apartment just won’t do.

But it’s good to know there are options for everyone.
