Hunters branches throughout the country have this week been celebrating SAFEagent Awareness Week.
SAFE in SAFEagent stands for Safe Agent Fully Endorsed and is a mark denoting agents that protect landlords and tenants money through a Client Money Protection (CMP) Scheme. The event has seen a week of activity both online and offline by agents, supplier partners, industry and consumer organisations promoting the week to raise consumer awareness of the importance of using a letting agent who is part of a Client Money Protection (CMP) Scheme.
Hunters recognises the importance and value in this and so do our Landlords. In a recent survey we carried out, 80% of landlords said they want an accredited agent (Hunters Landlord Survey (2016).
We are pleased to see that so many of our branches have embraced SAFEagent Awareness Week by promoting its benefits to customers and the general public both in branch and through social media.
Glynis Frew, Managing Director of Hunters, is proud to be on the Steering Committee for SAFEagent and commented, “As founding members of SAFEagent, Hunters are delighted to see the industry coming together as a united community to support this initiative. It is imperative that we as agents protect both tenants and landlords and for this reason we always advise clients to ask agents they are dealing with whether they are part of a CMP scheme. By helping to raise awareness we hope to encourage landlords and tenants to make a safe, informed choice when choosing future agents.”
