Hunters Estate Agent were approached last year to take part in the Channel 4 TV series “When I Grow Up” which follows groups of  primary school children aged between seven and nine in real life work environments. The children, who are from all over the country and from different backgrounds, spent a week with Hunters York, where the company first started in 1992. The purpose was to let the children ‘run the business for a week’, involving them in all aspect of estate agency, learning the job through training and mentoring by key members of staff including CEO Glynis Frew. The children get to meet customers, value properties, show people around houses and even try their hand at negotiating offers – all in a week!

Glynis Frew commented, “We are really excited to be involved in this Channel 4 TV series and can’t wait to see the programme! We are a family oriented business so we welcomed the children into our office with open arms. We wanted the children to get involved with real jobs and real responsibility and they certainly rose to the challenge.  The children were amazingly versatile and we were incredibly impressed with their attitude and ability to  carry out their jobs.  Customer service is absolutely key to us, so we were a little nervous about letting the children take over customer communication, negotiations and handle six figure sum sales. It was certainly an eventful week!”

Watch the trailer here and look out for Episode three of When I Grow Up  which features the children at Hunters - Channel 4, 16th May at 8pm.
