Why live in Crossgates

Crossgates is located just 4 miles outside of Leeds so has all the benefits of living in a suburb with a big city only a 15-minute drive away. Crossgates train station is served by Trans Pennine Express and Northern Rail, with direct routes to Hull, Leeds, York and Halifax.

Sandwiched between the A64 and A6120, the M1 is just a short drive down the road taking you North to Newcastle or South to London.

Because of its proximity to Leeds, a night out or day spent shopping is within easy reach. Crossgates itself also has a shopping centre and busy high street, so you don’t even have to venture into the city.

For a little greenery, Temple Newsam and Primrose Valley Park are nearby and great spots for a day out for a walk or kids to ride their bikes.

    Franchise Owner

    Manager and sales/lettings valuer for the Crossgates branch. Over 18 years sales and lettings experience independently and also with Hunters estate agency. Dealt with clients , buyers, seller, landlords and tenants on a daily basis building a successful agency and now looking to replicate this with the Crossgates branch within the Crossgates shopping centre. Interests include, Sport, keeping fit , hill walking and travel.

    Sales Director

    Alison relocated to Yorkshire seven years ago to join Hunters Estate Agents bringing with her a wealth of over 14 years’ experience in Sales, Lettings and Bespoke Timber Frame design. She is always on the lookout for new properties and opportunities which may arise in the ever-changing market. Enjoying all aspects of her position from carrying out valuations, viewings, sales progression through to completion, which she finds an extremely rewarding achievement. Interests include, spending time with family and friends, Interior design, weekend Spa breaks away and shopping.

    Fiona Husband

    Sales Administrator

    Fiona has recently moved to become the Sales Administrator/Office Manager for the Hunters Crossgates branch. With experience in sales and lettings since 2018 before joining Hunters in September 2020 Fiona is enthusiastic and her friendly approach will be an asset to the Crossgates branch. Fiona has a number of interests which include gardening, cycling, hill walking and curling up with a good book!

    Sales Negotiator

    Callum has successfully completed an apprenticeship scheme within the property industry in both Sales and Lettings, gaining three year’s experience and knowledge along the way, he is keen to put this into action within the new Hunters Branch at Crossgates. Callum enjoys all aspects of the business especially Social Media to enable us to reach out to all potential clients. Callum socially enjoys Formula 1 racing and taking part in sporting events.

Local area guide

Crossgates is a great location to settle for commuters with its direct train links to Leeds, Hull, Halifax and York. The range of primary and secondary schools available to the Crossgates area is good and ideal for families looking to reside in the area.

Leeds is just a 15-minute drive away or a few minutes by train, with regular services at peak commuter times. Looking in the opposite direction at York, it’s just over half an hour by car and just shy of 40 minutes on the train. So if you’re looking for a base to commute from, Crossgates is a fantastic option if you don’t want to live in a city centre.

Crossgates properties are a diverse range of different styles from modern flats, semi-detached, detached family houses and spacious Victorian terraces, there is a property for everyone to suit budget and requirements.

The Crossgates area offers a lot for the local community with sports facilities including football pitches, gyms, sports centre, nearby bowling green, community centre, shops and shopping centre and essential businesses that mean you don’t have to go into the city centre if you don’t want to. A trendy and modern “The Springs” opened in 2019 with all your high street favourites, a luxurious cinema, a gym and restaurants and bars to relax in once you’ve had your fill of shopping is a short distance away.

Nearby Temple Newsam is a 5-minute drive away or a walk of just under an hour. And there’s plenty to do here. A golf course, working farm, stately home and gorgeous country gardens. You could very easily spend a whole day exploring the grounds and making the most of good (or bad!) weather.

Crossgates has two medical centres and the nearby Seacroft Hospital has a range of outpatient services, with the nearest A&E at St James’s University Hospital.

All in all, Crossgates is perfectly located to make the most of all Leeds has to offer.
