Huddersfield is a wonderful university town with great rail links to Leeds & Manchester and road links to Leeds, Manchester, Bradford, Rochdale and Wakefield, making it quite a central place for those who need to travel a lot.

This lovely old town has bags of culture and history for you to explore. Birthplace of Rugby League, and home to Huddersfield Giants RLFC and Huddersfield Town Football Club at the John Smith's Stadium (Formerley the Galpharm stadium and prior to that the McAlpine stadium), there's plenty to keep sports fans entertained.

The university vibe means plenty of interesting shops, cafés and restaurants alongside a buzzing night-life of bars, clubs and pubs. Traditional pubs, craft beer joints and music venues all compete for your attention; you’d need a few nights out to explore it all!

Kirklees light railway makes a great day for little (and not so little) train enthusiasts and, at the time of writing, was rated TripAdvisor's number 1 thing to do in Huddersfield. There's also a number of top quality health spas located in gorgeous re-purposed old mills; just the thing to take the weight off after a day of exploring & shopping.
