Leicester Area Guide

Leicester is a modern, multicultural city, rich in arts, culture, sports and heritage, brimming with things to see and do including the National Space Centre, a fantastic calendar of events and festivals, renowned museums and galleries, a range of cuisines, areas of natural beauty and ancient heritage. Our central location in the Midlands, makes it to accessible from all directions and commuters love the easy 62 minute direct trains into London.

Hunters Stoneygate is located in the cosmopolitan suburb of Stoneygate, on the popular Allandale Road, close to Leicester City; this is the place to be if you enjoy designer shopping, chic restaurants and bars. The council designated Stoneygate a conservation area in 1978 and it remains an affluent area with a stunning combination of Victorian and Edwardian buildings. It is a fantastic area to bring up a family with several independent schools of varying faiths, showing the rich multi-cultural diversity of the City.  The Stoneygate Conservation Area Society continues to inform the public of its history and any proposed developments that may impact on Stoneygate's future.

The neighbouring area of Clarendon Park is host to many events along Queens Road and the adjoining Victoria Park. If you enjoy immersing yourself in the community then this area with its high end town houses and neat Victorian terraces will have just what you are looking for.

Heading away from the city centre you find Oadby and Knighton where many families seek to move for the excellent schooling including Manor High School which is widely recognised as one of the best schools in the county.

Other beautiful areas on the fringes of the city include Aylestone, Evington, Thurnby, Bushby, Stoughton, Scraptoft, Humberstone, Hamilton and Great Glen; all with their own unique charms, and community feel.
