    Andy has been with Hunters for over 20 years starting his agency career in Sales at the Head Office in York in 1999 before launching and managing the Leeds branch a year later. Born and bred in Easingwold Andy jumped at the chance to return to his home town and has run this office successfully for nearly 15 years! He knows the Easingwold area like the back of his hand and enjoys selling the variety of property available here, both old and new, in Easingwold and the villages, to customers from near and far!     Lydia works as Lettings Manager for the Easingwold branch and has been with Hunters for almost two years. Her introduction to the industry began in London where she worked for five years in the leafy neighbourhoods of Putney and Parsons Green. There she built up a wealth of experience dealing with a wide range of people and their differing needs which have stood her in good stead for the return home to North Yorkshire.

    Kara also works in our Lettings department, as a part time Lettings negotiator, based in our Easingwold branch and has been with Hunters for almost a year now. Kara has worked in central York in Lettings, for a number of years. She brings with her lots of local knowledge of the schools, local amenities and transport connections in and around the area. Kara is involved with property inspections, viewings, liaising with landlords and tenants, to progress new tenancies, and looking after our fully managed portfolio. We are also pleased to announce that she has recently qualified as a lister.

Local area guide

Just north of York sits the picturesque town of Easingwold, with a commute into the city of York of less than 30 minutes and 45 minutes into the famous Spa town of Harrogate. Nestled in the countryside, at the foothills of the Howardian Hills, it exemplifies the best of North Yorkshire living.

Easingwold has all of the amenities you might expect of a well-kept market town with regular farmers markets, quality shopping, excellent eateries, cafes, and bars. An array of services and clubs from the Police & Fire brigade, Solicitors & Accountants, Doctors & Dentists, Hairdressers & Barbers to Arts & Crafts Groups, Cricket, Football, Golf, Bowling, Netball and Karate clubs, and Private and State schools.

There is a good balance and variety of property for sale and rent, ranging from period grandeur to quaint bijou and new-builds.

Thanks to improved public transport and roads, exploring the countryside and coast is easily achievable, with the seaside or the Yorkshire Dales just over an hour away and Castle Howard less than 30 minutes drive.


There are numerous activities attached to the town, from cycleways to hiking trails, horseriding and alpaca walking with kayaking and standup paddle a short distance away.

Regarding history, the town is originally an amalgamation of two smaller villages, Uppleby and Lessimers. The former being a settlement of a Dane called Upple, and the latter being an Angle settlement on the lease-mires or leased-lands. The name of Easingwold is Anglo Saxon in origin, with wold being a derivation of wald meaning forest, and the former part being a Saxon family name called Esa. Although rich in history and folklore, Easingwold is essentially a very tranquil town with everything it needs at its doorstep.

The town has so much to offer that it attracts both young and established families as well as retirees.

Anyone considering a move to North Yorkshire should undoubtedly pay a visit to Easingwold before making a final decision, as Easingwold's character and atmosphere must be experienced to be fully appreciated.
