Welcome to Hunters Estate Agents and Letting Agents Sedgley

The Hunters Estate Agents and Letting Agents Sedgley is new to the group, but not new to Sedgley. There has been an estate agent working out of the Bilston Street offices continuously since the early eighties, when you could buy a new 4 bedroom detached house for £40,000!

Christine Swinscoe originally worked in the old estate agent and bought the business from the retiring owner some 20 years ago, and renamed the business in the family name. Christine’s daughter Jessica joined the business in 2008 after completing her Masters degree in urban design. Now, in the summer of 2017, Christine and Jessica made the decision to join the successful Hunters franchise to enable the business to take advantage of a national brand while keeping the customer focus inherent in a family run firm.

Hunters Estate agents and Letting Agents Sedgley covers a wide area, stretching from Penn in the Northeast, Goldthorn Park to the North, Bilston and Coseley to the West, and Dudley and the north and west of Dudley, including Milking Bank, Gornal, the Straits and Gospel End – a large part of the Black Country.

Almost every type of property may be found within the Hunters Sedgley branch domain, from 19th century miners cottages, modern ex-council housing, manor houses and new developments. Prices vary considerably across the borough, with identical houses varying from plus or minus 20% from the average, a very good reason to insist on local knowledge from your estate agent.

Everyone who works in the Hunters Sedgley branch lives within a couple of miles of the office and we have an in depth knowledge of our area.

Hunters Estate Agents and Letting Agents Sedgley handles both sales and letting of properties, offering excellent, personal service to buyers and sellers, landlords and tenants. Our team is ready, willing and able to help you whatever your property needs are.

Local area guide

Dudley and the Black Country has a long and proud heritage, and a very strong local identity. Because of the local geology, the black country was an ideal place to start the heavy industrial production in the 18th and 19th centuries.

There are many fascinating places to visit that showcases the industrial revolution – the excellent Black country museum, just a mile or so from Sedgley, in which one can see the cottage industry of chain making in houses that were relocated to the museum grounds, the canals and even a visit to a coal mine, for those who don’t suffer from claustrophobia! A few miles away, there is the famous iron Bridge, the first in the world, constructed by Abraham Darby in 1781. Not far away is Blists Hill Working Museum and the Severn Valley railway. Dudley Castle and Zoo overlook the town – curiously, no one is quite sure why a castle was built there!

All in all, Sedgley is a great place to live, work and commute. It is close to the Western mainline from London through Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh and Birmingham International Airport is only 40 minutes away. It is close to the M5, M6 and M40, and only a short drive into the glorious countryside in Shropshire, South Staffordshire and Worcestershire. There are excellent schools within the Sedgley catchment area, including; - Ellowes Hall Sports College, Bishop Milner Catholic College and Colton Hills Community School for secondary education, and Queen Victoria Primary School, Saint Chad’s Catholic Primary School and Cotwall End School for youngsters.

In terms of housing, there is a huge choice of property, from sub £100k apartments to residences with values edging towards £1m. For landlords, the ROI is excellent, typically around  8% on an appreciating asset. There is a large market of well qualified tenants seeking accommodation, and Hunters is very well equipped to provide as much or as little as landlords require.
