Skipton Castle is one of the best preserved in England and attracts thousands of visitors each year.

Airville Park offers several acres to picnic, kick a ball, run or try and damage yourself in the skateboard park. It also has a playground, tennis court and a pitch and putt course. In addition, a state of the art swimming pool complex includes a gym and health suite.

The Leeds-Liverpool Canal barge hire is available hourly, daily and weekly.

There are very well respected primary and secondary schools within the town, such as Skipton Girls High & Ermysteds Grammar.

What is the nightlife like?

The 2 Sisters is a bustling café during the day and a busy spot in the evenings. They have a delightful courtyard for drinks and food and a very good following with locals.

Alexanders is an upmarket bar/restaurant with superb terraced gardens overlooking the canal and occasional live music.

Napiers Steak House is a family run restaurant offering charm, superb hospitality, and the best steaks for miles – book early!

What are the transport links like in Skipton?

Skipton train station offers direct trains to London returning late evening and routes to Leeds or Bradford every 30 minutes or so. A bus station links to neighbouring towns and cities and Leeds Bradford International Airport is just 30 minutes away with direct flights to over 80 destinations.
