Hunters is proud to support an extraordinary endurance challenge this May, as York business owner Martin Dobson prepares to take on the Hardmoors 200-mile ultramarathon in aid of The Nikki Waterhouse Trust.
Setting off from Hull on Friday 22nd May 2026, Martin will aim to reach Helmsley within 60 hours, running day and night across some of Yorkshire’s most demanding terrain.
Pushing limits across Yorkshire
The Hardmoors 200 is widely regarded as one of the UK’s toughest ultramarathons.
Covering 200 miles along the Yorkshire Wolds Way and Cleveland Way, the route includes:
- Steep climbs and exposed trails
- Coastal paths and open countryside
- Long, remote stretches with minimal rest
It’s a relentless test of endurance, resilience and mental strength — demanding both physical preparation and a strong mindset.
Running for The Nikki Waterhouse Trust
Martin is taking on this challenge to raise funds for The Nikki Waterhouse Trust, a charity established in memory of a much-loved member of the Hunters team.
The Trust supports children and families facing difficult circumstances, providing practical help and making a meaningful difference in local communities.
For everyone across Hunters, it’s a cause that remains deeply personal.
A network behind him
While Martin will be covering the distance on foot, he won’t be doing it alone.
The challenge has the full backing of Hunters, with teams across the region coming together to support him at every stage. Offices along the route will be there throughout the weekend, offering refreshments, encouragement and a lift in morale when it’s needed most. These include:
- Hunters Beverley
- Hunters Bridlington
- Hunters Scarborough
- Hunters Filey
This coordinated support reflects the strength of the Hunters network — people coming together for a shared purpose and rallying behind a cause that means so much.

Determination with purpose
For Martin, this is his toughest challenge to date, one driven by far more than personal achievement.
