Local Beer Garden A Big Hit

23rd June 2021 posted in Home Lifestyle

Even though people can now drink indoors in London pubs, there is a lot to be said for supping in a beer garden on a warm and sunny day. When the weather plays ball, there are few finer places to meet with friends and loved ones to catch up.

We know there are plenty of fantastic bars and restaurants in and around Forest Hill, and you don’t have far to travel if you are looking for a great day out. One pub that has received a lot of praise and attention is The Perry Hill pub, located in Lewisham.

A massive beer garden is what people want on a day out

Now, like many local bars, The Perry Hill has been welcoming punters indoors since the middle of May, but for many, it is the beer garden that is still the top attraction. There is more space for more than 250 guests, and with the summer starting to perk up, it is natural that people want to spend time here.

The beer garden has been re-opened since the 12th of April, and it has been going down a storm. The space looks fantastic, and has been brought to life with many colourful placements around the garden.

The venue is also well known for a fantastic menu, offering some of the finest British meals you can find. If you are looking for a Sunday Roast to cure a hangover, or you just want a banging burger that keeps you feeling full for the rest of the day, you are in luck.

There is tremendous food on offer

The pub has their own smokehouse, so there is an authentic smoky flavour in the meats. Another thing which has captured the imagination is the raspberry jam doughnut ice-cream sandwich which is on offer. These have been snapped up by punters, and their fame has spread on social media.

The pub was missing from the local scene for a couple of years, but it is back, with some people saying it is better than ever. There is new seating in place, there are umbrellas offering shade from the sun, or inclement weather, and there is also a colourful backdrop which is brilliant for people looking to capture their day out for their Instagram or Facebook feeds.

The pub is located between Sydenham and Catford, and you’ll be delighted to know there are many train stations in the local area. Forest Hill, Catford, Sydenham, Lower Sydenham and Bellingham train stations are all within walking distance of the pub, so we expect many people to start making this pub part of their drinking plans as summer continues.

While it is best to book your spot to avoid feeling disappointed, you will be pleased to hear that The Perry Hill retains half of its tables for walk-in punters.
