Stoke Newington Restaurants and Takeaways Still Operating

During adversity, people come together and stick up for others in the community. Everyone has issues to contend with as we battle the coronavirus pandemic, but local businesses are finding it tough.

We know many people are looking for ways to support local businesses, which is why many people will be pleased to learn of a few local restaurants offering delivery and takeaway options.

Ceres is a popular name in Stoke Newington

Ceres has been a popular name in Stoke Newington ever since it opened in 2018, located at 74 Green Lanes. The restaurant, which was initially set up as a supper-club, has served up Southern European food. This was inspired by the Sicilian and Provencal heritage of the property owner.

Like all great restaurants in and around Stoke Newington, Ceres temporarily closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Thankfully though, it has re-opened to offer a food delivery service, ensuring locals can enjoy some of their finest dishes once again.

Some of the best dishes on offer with the delivery service include:

·         Caponata, which is a Sicilian aubergine stew

·         Duck breast, slow-cooked at low temperature with cocoa nibs

·         French asparagus and Ratte potatoes

·         Homemade tortellini filled with a leek, ricotta & parmesan stuffing

·         Octopus salad prepared with tomato, coriander, lime & shallot dressing

·         Sauces including San Marzano tomato and Spinach & Garlic

·         Slow-cooked lamb shank stew with North African spices and dried apricot

You can enjoy all these dishes at home, and they can be re-heated or cooked from the comfort of your own property.

This isn’t all, as you will be able to book breakfast bundles, cheese and wine and even a specialist oysters and wine box. Also, if you have been missing out on the cocktails served at Ceres, you can order these as well.

The Clarence serves up fantastic meals

Another great option for food that you can heat at home comes from The Clarence. While it is a well-known name in Stoke Newington, it was under new owners. However, it was a bizarre start for the people who previously ran Anchor and Hope as it was only trading for five days before it had to close because of the lockdown.

There is a 50% discount for NHS staff, and every order is a pre-paid and no-contact delivery. While there is a lot of store cupboard items on offer, the main menu is what will get your mouth watering. These dishes have been prepared by head chef Harry Kaufman, and you can choose from:

·         Confit duck cassoulet

·         Rainbow chard, leek and cheddar pie

·         Seven-hour Swaledale lamb shoulder and gratin dauphinoise

·         Suet crusted chicken, bacon and wild garlic pie

·         Suet crusted steak pie

You can also help yourself to an ale growler or two, wine and cocktails. Whatever you need for a special night in is available close to home.
