Welcome to Hunters Estate Agents Horsforth

Overview

Horsforth Estate Agent

Hunters are the UK’s largest and fastest growing estate agents group, with over 100 branches throughout the country. We are very proud that Hunters Horsforth is the newest addition to the Hunters family.

As such our new office combines the reputation, support and market presence of an established nationwide brand, with the care, attention and hands-on approach of an independent boutique agency. Director, Jonathan is extremely excited to now operate in an area they both call home.

Jonathan Malkinson, is a resident in the area and also has family in Horsforth, he plays for local sports teams and is actively involved with the community in both LS18 and LS16.

“The areas we cover are very personal to us both”. Combined with our local knowledge and industry expertise, our commitment to deliver exceptional service provides for ‘an unbeatable, hard- working and successful agent!’

Hunters now have a very strong network of local offices in the Leeds area, with Horsforth completing the chain. The offices in Leeds work together exposing a wider audience.

“We are committed to providing an exceptional level of service. In an industry which often gets a bad reputation and a world where this is not everyone’s priority - it is certainly ours!”

“Offering a unique style of Agency, dealing directly with the business owner, we operate differently from our competitor’s; our flexibility allows us to tailor a bespoke service to your needs.”

In what may be seen as a crowded market, Hunters Horsforth aims to stand out from the others in every way possible. Our stylish new home is certainly more than just our office to us, it represents our image and we aim to blend traditional values with a modern twist on Estate Agency.

Situated on New Road Side, in the heart of the Horsforth community, we service the areas in Horsforth, Cookridge, Tinshill, Holt Park, Adel, Weetwood, West Park, Kirkstall, Rodley, Calverley and anywhere in between. See what our customers say about Hunters Horsforth team:

I highly recommend Hunters. I particularly liked that they have a personal sales person who acts as a go between all parties/solicitors etc and keeps you informed weekly of the sale and purchase progress.

Mrs Baraclough, Cookridge

We have recently rented a flat with Hunters and they were fantastic from the valuation, doing viewings, informing us of our tenants details and organising a full inventory at short notice. They always get back to you with queries straight away, which is great when you are busy. Would highly recommend to other landlords. Great teamwork, well done.

Mrs Marshall, Cookridge

Hunters Estate Agents could not have performed any better, the team work well together giving latest update quickly. Professional, competent and friendly and working with Hunter’s sales progression team means you are informed from the sign going up to sale completion.

Mr Raw, Cookridge

Hunters Horsforth were professional throughout the whole purchasing process for us. They were by far the best estate agent we dealt with. Very quick with queries, every viewing was with somebody who knew about the property (unlike others estate agents) and finally all of the staff were professional and friendly.

Mr Barker, Cookridge

Superb agent to deal with. Very friendly, professional and approachable staff couldn't do enough for you and even gave the kids some nice treats when we picked up our keys. Enjoyable experience would definitely recommend.

Mr McCabe, Horsforth

I can't praise Hunters enough for their professional friendly service. From the photographs and particulars, accompanied viewings (thank you Lynsey) to securing an offer within a week! The difference with Hunters is they don't forget about you once you've signed up! Thanks also to Tom and Johnny for being so professional and proactive.

Mrs Kirby, Adel

We chose Hunters to sell our property because of the valuer Tom. Enthusiastic and professional throughout, he did much more than just value the property as he was our main contact with the Agents throughout the process of selling. He smoothed out many of the issues we faced, always being at the end of the phone. In the office, Emma was great too. Helpful and supportive, she helped us through some tricky situations with both our buyer and seller. Overall, I would (and have) recommenced them to other people.

Mr Baldwin, West Park

From the minute my partner and I walked through the doors we were looked after. Staff are really helpful and friendly. We were kept up to date throughout the whole process and felt at ease about phoning with queries. I would definitely use this company again.

Meet the team

    Jonathan Malkinson

    Managing Director

After graduating in 2002, I found my way into the property world, where I gained experience in purchasing and renovating properties. This soon led to employment in the industry before joining Hunters in 2011. I opened the Horsforth branch in 2014 with values that I feel are very different and more progressive than other agents, values that are stronger than ever today. I spend my time in the office supporting my team, I love meeting clients face to face, especially on valuations and viewings and I’m extremely passionate about the client’s journey aiming to make this as smooth and stress free as possible, so I’m personally on hand for them practically 24/7. At home, I enjoy plenty of country walks with my dog, I’ll try any sport and I think it’s important to ‘re charge the batteries’ so getting away with my wife is highly important too. I adopt the ‘work hard-play hard’ policy in my life!

    Tom Donnelly

    Valuation Manager

I started working in estate agency in 1999 in the East Midlands aged just 16 and subsequently never looked back! My first full time position was as a sales associate in central London which was a real learning curve in stark contrast to rural Lincolnshire - it proved a great destination to cut my teeth in a turbulent marketplace where nothing ever stood still! After some success in the city I climbed the ranks to management but never left the specialist field of valuations as I love the cut and thrust of front-line sales entwined with the chase of the new instruction! At Hunters Horsforth I am passionate about advising clients with regards to the value of their home and the benefit our team of local experts can bring in achieving the best possible price. The best part of my job is being able to rely on a brilliant team whereby everybody involved truly cares about each sale on a case by case basis.

    Emma Ellis

    Sales Manager

I have over 20 years of customer service experience and in last 5 years I have worked as Sales Negotiator, Valuer and now my current position as Sales Manager for the Horsforth office. I am keen on providing the best customer service I can, I love seeing the process from start to finish and helping people get to their next chapter as smoothly as possible. It’s amazing when customers come back to Hunters because they remember the service they received and therefore want to use us again. I have grown up living in Horsforth and Cookridge and my daughter has also attended local schools I therefore feel very lucky to be a part of a great local community.

    Harriet Bramley

    Senior Negotiator

My estate agency career was kick started in the London property market – baptism of fire some would say! For the past 5 years I have been based around the North Leeds area. I started working for Hunters in 2018 and haven’t looked back! Having worked in both lettings and sales I feel I have good all-round knowledge of the industry.

    Accompanied Viewer

I have over 16 years of customer service experience with 10 of those as a wedding consultant- I love working with clients towards those big moments in life which makes showing people round their new homes a perfect fit for me. It’s my face that viewers will see most so it’s a good job I am bubbly and approachable which probably comes from my years spent as a Red Coat! Living locally with my husband and two children means I have a real grasp on the local community and can really help sell our area to those buyers who are moving from elsewhere.

  • Jennifer Losch - MTT.jpg

    Jennifer Losch

    Administrator

I have recently joined Hunters, having worked in Education for the past seven years as well as running my own health business for fifteen years prior to that. You’ll find me working away on the marketing materials that help your property sell, as well as the other day to day administration tasks that help to keep the office running smoothly, so that our team can help provide you with great customer service.

    Victoria Hodlin

    Sales Progressor

I’ve worked in estate agency for 5 years, and with Hunters as a sales progressor for over 2 years. Prior to this I was self-employed for 20 years, so I understand how important good customer service is. I pride myself on good customer communications, and love being able to help vendors and buyers to sell and purchase their homes. I believe everyone deserves good service. I strive to make the process as smooth as possible. In my spare time I like to spend as much time in the great outdoors my husband, 2 children and 2 dogs.

Local area guide

Horsforth is a charming, characterful suburb lying to the north west of Leeds, where many of the houses have been built from locally sourced stone. Horsforth was once proudly famed for being the largest village in the UK until the expansion of the city of Leeds nudged it into its suburbs. Retaining the charm of the village it once was, Horsforth is now a thriving, vibrant community that stretches northwards from the River Aire, towards the airport, with stunning views and many green spaces in between.

The history of Horsforth village can be found today at the Horsforth Museum, just one reminder of its past along with some cobbled streets and an abundance of delightful stone houses and cottages, built from locally sourced stone a century ago or more.  These characterful properties sit comfortably alongside more modern housing, forming the town as it is today. In and around Horsforth there are a number of woods and playing fields; Horsforth Hall Park, a beautifully kept area situated in the centre, offers multi sports facilities and stages a variety of events throughout the year.

There is an expanding business community in the town - the wide range of which should surely cater for the needs of all - with a developing industrial area to be found on Low Lane. There is an abundance of bars, restaurants and shops, many of which are individual, locally-owned businesses. Horsforth houses a diversity of clubs and societies, most of which offer a comprehensive list of events and activities, something for everyone, providing a strong sense of community. A farmers market is held each month on Town Street.

There are a number of excellent schools, making Horsforth a hugely popular area for young families. Horsforth College Campus, to be found near the ring road, is part of Leeds City College, and Trinity and All Saints University, which offers its superb sports facilities to the public, lies to the north. There are gyms; cricket, bowls, rugby, golf and running clubs; and a skate park: something for all ages. Horsforth is only about 3 miles from Kirkstall which has a Vue Cinema and many leisure facilities.

With its own station and numerous bus routes, Horsforth, which crosses the ring road, has easy access to Leeds city centre and the many motorway networks. Leeds/Bradford airport is situated a mere 5 miles from the town.

Geographically, Horsforth is perfectly situated. The town sits right next to the charming villages of Rawdon and Calverley; it also borders Rodley, with its beautiful canal and riverside walks; it is close to the beautiful, historic Kirkstall Abbey with its Deli markets and a number of superb events staged throughout the year; and of course, nestles on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales. All this, yet only a 10 minute ride from the bustling, cosmopolitan city of Leeds!
