Kingswood is a suburb in South Gloucestershire, on the border of Bristol. It lies just over three miles outside of Bristol city centre.
Kingswood is on the main A420 coming out of Bristol and towards Bath, so both of these cities are easily accessible to residents here. The ring road links the area to the M4 and M5 making it the perfect place for those wanting to commute by car to other nearby towns and cities too. Lawrence Hill is the nearest train station which is about 2.5 miles away. However, bus services provide easy access to Bristol Temple Meads train station which runs services across the country.
There are some great local schools in the Kingswood area. The new King’s Oak Academy provides both primary and secondary education, which is a first for the area. The Black Horse is a popular local pub with a great atmosphere, and locals enjoy making the most of the hearty plates of food that are served up here. Kingswood has good healthcare provision provided by Kingswood Health Centre and the nearby Cossham Hospital. There are several pharmacies and dental practices in the area too. There’s also Kingswood Library and Kingswood Post Office, so everything needed is right on the doorstep.
When wanting to enjoy some fresh air, make the most of Kingswood Park, which is a park right in the heart of the area. It has a children’s play area, a bandstand, bowling green, tennis courts and much more. Active residents also enjoy making the most of Kingswood Leisure Centre, with its pool, gym, fitness classes and many more activities that take place here.
