Liverpool was named as the Capital of Culture in 2008 after the city’s riverfront was designated as a World Heritage Site in 2004.
Liverpool is famous throughout the world for its music, and many world-renowned recording artists choose to perform in Liverpool. Every year, a full week is dedicated to International Beatles Week to celebrate them and the fact that the city is the home of the famous band.
