The current owners of this unique home have occupied South Lodge since April fools day 2005. They were first attracted to the architecture of their home but once inside the "Goth Décor" soon gave them second thoughts although not completely.
At first they say they "saw months and years of work" but the quite location and open space won them over. Liz and her husband Mark were also impressed with the proximity to local conveniences and "easy" access to Ropner Park.
South Lodge has been a great place to bring up their son Dan, who is 23 now and attended the local schools says Liz who has fond memories of Dan as a child playing hide seek with mates in the grounds of the well kept cemetery. Mark goes on to say that "living in the cemetery isn't for everyone" but as the grounds are so well kept and as the cemetery is full now buyers shouldn't be concerned that there will be a constant flow of mourners, in fact it is quite serene.
This unique home is packed with unique features from the 7ft 4 internal doors to the stone Gargoyles around the front door.
Liz commented that she "wishes she could pick the house up and move it to their new location" as she has thourghly loved living there and its been the best house she has ever lived in" but holding down jobs, keeping a home and running a small holding is now taking its toll and time for a change.
This home is on the market at offers in the region of £200,000 and buyers are welcome to arrange viewing via Hunters on 01642 224366.
