Hunters Estate Agents and Letting Agents Little Sutton’s franchise owner, Gary McKelvy, has been involved in the selling and letting of properties since leaving college and during that time has worked for both family and corporate firms. Gary enjoyed working in both types of company, but in 2002 decided to take the leap into self-employment, opening his own estate agency in Little Sutton.
With lots of hard work, and the support of an experienced team at Hunters Little Sutton consisting of David, Michelle, Lynn and Rob, Gary has seen his business grow, helping more people to get moving than ever before. Gary, David, Michelle and Lynn are all very experienced in both sales and lettings in Little Sutton and the surrounding areas and between them have over 80 years’ experience in all aspects of the housing market. They were recently joined by Rob as an enthusiastic and hard-working apprentice.
Gary and the team at Hunters Estate Agents and Letting Agents Little Sutton strive to bring quality to the process of selling and letting; putting helping people at the forefront of everything they do.
Mortgage and protection advice from independent local specialists
Buying a property is likely to be the biggest single purchase you will ever make in your lifetime.
Did you know that according to the latest government house price index1, the average house price in the UK is now reported as £249,633 – just shy of a quarter of a million pounds?
When you are committing to this kind of investment, you want to make sure you are doing it right! As an independent mortgage adviser and director of Exchange Wealth Management Mortgages, Ian Ward has decades of experience of finding the best fixed-rate deals for buyers. Living on the Wirral, and having worked alongside Hunters Estate Agents Heswall for the past 10 years, Ian is very much in tune with the Wirral community and its local property scene, and to the North West at large.
Ian’s (and Exchange’s) reputation has been founded upon a solid and professional commitment to duty and care, and his clients have found his services especially valuable during these unprecedented times of coronavirus pandemic. Ian’s services are naturally available to all members of the property-buying public, which means that, whatever your individual circumstances, whatever type of property you are buying and whenever you wish to move, Ian and his colleague advisers will do everything possible to make sure your needs are met and your purchase can proceed smoothly.
WHY NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO APPLY FOR YOUR MORTGAGE?
The cost of borrowing is very favourable at the moment, with interest rates incredibly low. Mortgage offers are soaring, too, partly due to the buoyant property market that we’re seeing in the wake of the covid-19 lockdowns, and partly due to the Stamp Duty Holiday introduced by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in July 2020, which will run (in some form2) until 1st October 2021.
Whatever your reason or incentive for buying, Ian always advises would-be borrowers to apply for their mortgage at the earliest possible stage in the home-buying process.
By preparing yourself in advance, saving up for a deposit and taking steps to secure a ‘mortgage agreement in principle’ before you begin your property search, your position is strengthened:
1) it demonstrates to the vendor and selling agents that you are serious and ready to proceed, and 2) it gives you the confidence to make a genuine offer on your future home without delay, knowing how much you are able to borrow. Finding the most competitive mortgage deal is also critical, since securing the very best rates can end up saving you many thousands of pounds over the agreed term.
