Why live in Shoreditch?
Shoreditch is an exciting district in the East End of London and is part of the London Borough of Hackney.
Shoreditch has brilliant transport links into the centre of London. Shoreditch High Street station is serviced by London Overground and falls into Fare Zone 1. Liverpool Street and Old Street tube station are just a stone's throw away, both of which are also on the National Rail network. In addition, you can easily access all areas of the district via London Buses which provide a regular service.
Associated with the creative industries, the local area has changed a lot over recent years, with lots of developers reclaiming unused spaces and converting them into luxury-living accommodation, making the already popular area even more desirable for young professionals and those looking to be close to the financial district.
Independent cinemas, shops, eateries, bars and cafes are plentiful in Shoreditch, with vibrant nightlife and fantastic arts scenes. You’ll be spoilt for choice with all the local activities this brilliant district has to offer.
See what our customers say about Hunters Shoreditch team:
When being taken for my viewing, it was such a miserable day so it was already not the best way to start the day but from the service I received it completely changed my attitude for the rest of the day. I had a young gentleman called Levander; first of all, he was punctual (which is more than I can say for the estate agency I had previously used). Came across very well, so helpful and couldn’t be more helpful if he tried. Answered everything no hesitation and gave the extra mile with customer service, wasn’t too pushy and was honest. Would definitely recommend this agency and wish I had found it sooner!Ms G, Shoreditch
I just wanted to say a big thank you to Lavender who helped me instantly with a few problems I was having within my property. Very polite and professional. Thank you Lavander! Will definitely be recommending to family, friends & clients. Keep up the good work! :)Ms P, Shoreditch
Hunters are a very professional and efficient company. Especially Keeley, she deals with any questions or issues we have straight away and is always very friendly and polite. Would highly recommend!!!Would definitely recommend and deal with again.Kim Highland
This Hunters business is independently owned and operated by PR Alliance Ltd | Registered Address: 110 Curtain Road, London, EC2A 3AH | Registered Number: 6242984 England and Wales | VAT No: 918 7157 96 with the written consent of Hunters Franchising Limited.
Originally part of Middlesex, as of 1889, Shoreditch is now part of London's beloved East End. There are different stories about the origins of the name "Shoreditch", the most romantic (though sadly untrue) is that this famous area of London is the burial site of Jane Shore, one of Edward IV's mistresses. It is now regarded as a haven for art and culture lovers with a range of properties available on and off of the water. For land lovers, prices start at just above £230,000 for studio properties and range up to the £4Million mark for gorgeous historic properties to buy.
Renters can look to pay anywhere from £600pcm for a room in a shared property and £30,000pcm for an open plan 5 bedroomed penthouse with only the finest city views. With great transport links to other areas of London, as well as out of the city entirely, Shoreditch is the perfect location for anyone looking to experience the London art scene at its best!
For the food lovers out there, Brick Lane is home to the best Salt Beef bagel in London, but two different bagel emporiums compete for the title of the best bagel! Fortunately, both are open 24 hours a day, so you'll have plenty of time to try each one and decide your favourite. If buffalo wings are more your thing, then a visit to The Orange Buffalo is in order, and for coffee lovers, the Rough Trade (which is also a musical paradise) is only a 3-minute walk away.
Maybe you’re craving fresh scents and Instagram worthy boutiques? Then look no further than the Columbia Road Flower Market. Alternatively, there are many flower stalls throughout the district that are perfect for browsing. With an array of beautiful shops and boutiques, you're certain to find trinkets you love. Fancy a spot of photography or want to explore more of the colourful history of the area? Try visiting the Geffrye Museum which specialises in textiles and furnishings. Or, you could immerse yourself in the mix of blockbusters and independent films showing at the Richmix Cinema.
Shoreditch is home to some incredible street art, though it's impossible to give recommended locations because it changes so frequently! Wander around the area and you'll stumble across new and different creations every few weeks. This is one of the best locations to see work from undiscovered gems, you can be amongst the first to view it by visiting or living in this thriving London hub.
When you've settled in, if you fancy trying something entirely new, it's also the home of the National Centre for Circus Arts. With a variety of day courses and longer programmes in a variety of skills, you're sure to find something you'll adore doing. There are courses available for all ages, so there's no excuse not to get involved!
Whether you're looking to make it your home for just 1 year, or your home for the next 15 (or maybe even longer) Hunters Shoreditch is here to help you find your next home. Get in touch with our office today and find out how we can help you live in the indescribable London area!
