And if you prefer to travel by car, the A41 bypass links Tring to the M25 to reach Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports, and Luton airport is only 12 miles away.

Tring is a beautiful 17th-century market town set among the Chiltern Hills in Hertfordshire.
Situated just 30 miles northwest of London, it’s a popular town with commuters as well as local people. There are excellent transport links including the town’s train station, which has services to London Euston that take 40 minutes. There are also good train services to Birmingham, Northampton and Crewe. For travel by bus, the town has excellent services to Hemel Hempstead, Watford and Luton Airport. And if you prefer to travel by car, the A41 bypass links Tring to the M25 to reach Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports, and Luton airport is only 12 miles away.
Tring is well known for its excellent schools as many have been rated outstanding or good by Ofsted. There’s a range of choices for kids of all ages, including several nurseries and primary schools for young children. Tring School is the local secondary school, and there’s also Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, a renowned independent school for children aged 8-19. The town is close to Berkhamsted, which has numerous private schools.
Tring has a thriving High Street with shops such as Marks & Spencer and Tesco. There are also gorgeous independent stores such as Loft 68 Vintage, Fancy That and The Market House, Grace & Son and Picture Box.
The High Street is also increasingly becoming the place to go for food lovers due to its variety of popular restaurants, gastro pubs and coffee shops. Black Goo Coffee and Nonna’s Supper Club are both brilliant places to catch up with friends after an afternoon shopping. For dinner, The Akeman or Storia serves delicious pub-classics with something for everyone. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, Crockers Tring offers contemporary fine dining and is not one to miss. Or for a more relaxed evening try Craftyard or The Kings Arms.
Tring has all the facilities and services you need including GP surgeries, pharmacies and dentists, as well as a library, Post Office and Tring Sports Centre. The Sports Centre has a newly refurbished swimming pool, a sports hall, AstroTurf, grass pitches and more.
Tring hosts lots of cultural events throughout the year. There’s Chilfest, a family-friendly music festival with acts from all eras meet for one excellent weekend in summer. In autumn, there’s the much-anticipated fireworks night and winter is seen in with the traditional Tring Christmas market. The local Pendley Manor Hotel is in a Grade II listed building that hosts a popular comedy festival and many acts throughout the year.
