The M5 is nearby giving good access to Bristol and the rest of the country. Exeter also has its own airport making international travel accessible as well as flights around the UK.
Exeter has excellent education options. There are state schools, private schools, and mixed or single-gender schools to choose from. Over 70% of schools in the area have achieved an outstanding rating from Ofsted. Exeter College has excellent further education courses, and the University of Exeter achieved a gold award from the Teaching Excellence Framework.
There’s great shopping in Exeter, with a large number of high street stores in large shopping centres in the city. Independent stores thrive here too and there are areas of the city, such as the West Quarter, that host many independent shops and eateries. The architecture of the city is beautiful too, with cobbled streets housing small shops that are exciting to explore.
Nightlife in Exeter is varied and has something for everyone. The Quayside provides a tranquil and relaxed setting to enjoy a meal or drink, but there are plenty of modern bars across the city and traditional pubs too. There’s a great choice of restaurants with different cuisines and some really fun places to spend the evening out with friends.
There’s plenty to do within the city, including sports or a free visit to The Royal Albert Memorial Museum. However, Exeter is also surrounding by stunning countryside and the coastlines are within easy reach too, so it’s well worth getting out to explore these areas at the weekend.
