Why live in Yate?
Yate is an old town in South Gloucestershire, just 11 miles north east of Bristol. Chipping Sodbury is its neighbouring market town with much to offer locals too.
Yate train station makes commuting straightforward as it’s on the Bristol to Birmingham line, so both of these large cities are within easy reach. These main stations have excellent nationwide services, which makes travelling to the rest of the UK accessible from here too. Good road links mean that Bath can be reached in just half an hour by car, and with the M4 running just south of Yate, travelling further afield is easy too. The bus services are excellent, with regular services to Bath and Bristol, as well as nearby towns.
The town has a large shopping centre with a range of high street brands, as well as food and drink outlets. There’s also a cinema on site, and several supermarkets to choose from.
Yate and the neighbouring town of Chipping Sodbury have a variety of places to eat and drink. There are lovely cafes for coffee, breakfast or lunch, with both well-known names and independents found here. When heading out for an evening meal or drink, choose from a traditional pub, cocktail bar, or local restaurants including Italian and Indian.
The town has great amenities including good healthcare, dental care, a leisure centre and local library.
The surrounding countryside offers stunning walks as Yate is just south of The Cotswolds, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. When staying local, there are several lovely parks to make the most of too, including Kingsgate Park, with its lake and adventure playground.
