    David Metcalfe

    Franchise Owner

Having worked for a large corporate estate agency for six years I decided to set up my first Hunters branch back in 2011. To open up with one other member of staff with no houses to sell was the most stressful thing I have ever done! I soon found that running my own estate agency was very different to working for someone else. I remember after the first couple of months we unfortunately had a sale fall through and it hit me like a truck! Lying awake at night, not being able to think about anything else, wondering what I could do to put the deal back together! My commitment to my business remains and I very much lead from the front in all aspects of the business. When the opportunity came up to take over the existing branch of Hunters in Ripon I jumped at it. I started my estate agency career in Ripon, I met my wife in Ripon and got married in Grewelthorpe – it is an area which is very close to my heart! In my free time I love to spend time with my wife and son, cooking (particularly Thai food) and I’m a keen fan of formula one.

    Branch Manager

I have worked in the industry for over 15 years, in that time I have built up extensive knowledge in every aspect of buying and selling houses and was extremely proud to receive a GOLD industry award, for excellence in customer service as voted for by our clients in 2016. I have lived in the local area with my family for the last 25 years and love everything that Ripon City has to offer. In my spare time, I love eating out, drinking fine wines and visiting Spain where my husband’s family live where we enjoy their lifestyle and culture.

    Lettings Branch Manager

I joined David in June 2014 following several years at a corporate letting agent. Having worked with David before and after seeing his success running his own business, I jumped at the opportunity to join him at Hunters. I was recruited as the Lettings Branch Manager to focus on growing a lettings business that could offer unrivalled levels of customer service to local property owners. I enjoy all aspects of my job and every day is different, meeting with perspective landlords and discussing our many service options is by far the most enjoyable part. Away from work my hobbies include rugby, walking with my dog Hector and skiing.

    Valuations Manager

I have worked in the industry for over 11 years originally for a large company in Ripon. I recently joined the team in January after having a bit of time off to have my Son Harry. I met my Husband in Ripon, who owns this office, so it’s very much a family business. We both have family in the Ripon area and got married in the church at Grewelthorpe and we really love the area. I bring with me a vast amount of experience and pride myself in delivering results. I love spending time with my lovely family, eating out and enjoying long country walks.

I have worked within the industry for 25 years and have been part of the Hunters team for over 3 years, joining the Boroughbridge office before moving to Ripon in January 2018. I bring a wealth of experience and knowledge, having lived in the local area for 18 years. I have been told that one of my best qualities is patience, a necessity when helping clients through one of life’s biggest changes!!! When not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, good food and wine, and when time permits a good chick flick!
