Bishop's Stortford Estate & Letting Agents

Our office is prominently located in Water Lane, close to the centre of the vibrant market town of Bishop’s Stortford. This is our Head Office and, as well as our sales and lettings teams, it is also where our Land & New Homes, Commercial and Accounts teams are based.

Our dedicated and highly experienced staff have unrivalled knowledge of the local area and its people and a reputation for professionalism and exceptional customer service.

We successfully sell, let and manage residential and commercial property in Bishop’s Stortford and the surrounding area, to Hertford in the west, Takeley in the east, Harlow in the South and up beyond Buntingford and Royston in the north.

Joining the Hunters network, of over 200 branches thoughout the country, means we now have access to a greater range of services to offer our clients.

Our branches remain independently owned, with the same great service and customer experience you've come to expect from us.

Local area guide

Bishop’s Stortford is a traditional and historic market town on the eastern edge of Hertfordshire and bordering west Essex. It is an area with outstanding communications including the M11 (J8) and the Stansted Express mainline service (36 minutes to London Liverpool Street) making it ideal for commuters and Stansted International Airport (about 4 miles) with its increasing number of European and long haul destinations. It also has some of the best schools in the County, including the renowned independent Bishop’s Stortford College, making it a good choice for families.

As one would expect of a popular and bustling town, it benefits from a good range of recreational facilities and amenities including an excellent golf club, leisure centre, cinema, and rugby, football and cricket clubs. The Rhodes Arts Complex is a thriving, lively venue in the heart of the town which provides a year round varied programme of events including in-house, professional and local theatre, dance productions, live music, comedy, exhibitions, educational workshops and lectures. The centre offers a good mix of national high street and independent shops and there are numerous excellent restaurants and bars.

The area surprises many who visit for the first time as it sits within some fine countryside with many beautiful villages, including the very popular villages of Manuden, Berden and the Hadhams and Pelhams which offer easy access into Bishop’s Stortford.

There are many great attractions for families close by including the historic National Trust owned Hatfield Forest just to the east of the town which offers 1000 acres of pasture and woodland to explore. Mountfitchet Castle and Toy Museum in Stansted, a fabulous interactive day out for children to enjoy, and the inspirational Henry Moore Studio and Gardens where you can see many of his sculptures and collected artworks are within a short drive of the town.
