Epping is an extremely popular and vibrant commuter town, largely as a result of the Epping Tube Station which is the last stop on the Central Line. It also offers easy access to the M11 and M25 offering good links to other parts of the country and London Stansted Airport, with its increasing number of European and long haul destinations, is only half an hour away.
There are many excellent primary and secondary schools and leisure facilities in the area also making it a good choice for families. As well as many sports clubs, there is a fabulous golf course which offers panoramic views over the undulating Essex countryside.
The town has a diverse selection of shops including High Street names, traditional stores, home stores, chic boutiques and numerous eating places and there is a bustling weekly market every Monday. The High Street is a designated conservation area and there are a number of attractive listed buildings, most dating from the 18th Century, lining both sides of the street.
The town is surrounded by green fields and lies alongside 6,000 acres of ancient forest offering endless all year round leisure opportunities including walking, cycling and horseriding. For the really adventurous, the Olympic Lee Valley White Water Centre is just a few miles away as is, for a more leisurely outing, the Epping Ongar Heritage railway which offers a wide range of events and activities for adults and children throughout the year. The fine Georgian mansion, Copped Hall, which holds guided tours and open days throughout the year, is also nearby and, of course, all the attractions in the City are only a short train ride away.
